Travel Diaries: Ireland

This past Friday, my Mum-in-law set off for a 4 day trip to Ireland, specifically where she grew up, Dungarvan in County Waterford. We took the ferry from Pembroke, Wales to Rosslare, Ireland. I have wanted to visit the Emerald Isle since I can remember, and was beyond excited for my first trip! We stayed with Mary's cousin Ann, who I so enjoyed meeting, as well as her family.

Some of my favorite bits from the trip included:
1) Singing along to Johnny Cash's Jackson with my Mum-in-law during the  5 hour drive to pick-up the ferry.
2) Standing on the deck of the ferry as Ireland came into sight - it was a very special moment for me!
3) Both in Wales and in Ireland their road signs are in both English and Gaelic. (I don't know why, but this tickles me)
4)Attending my first and only (yup, one was enough) dog show with my Mum-in-law who showed three of her French bull dogs in County Waterford. It is essentially a beauty pageant for canines folks.
5) Setting up Ann on a dating website service, and watching her delight!
6) Ann's hospitality and company.
7) The double rainbow over Dungarvan harbor.
8) The lush Irish landscapes and the beautiful coastline.
9) Irish butter and their HUGE bread slices.
10) Enjoying my favorite beer in very old pub in my new favorite country, Ireland.

We spotted these three collies waiting patiently for their owner in Pembroke.

My two favorite Irish lassies, my Mum-in-law, and her cousin Ann, our 'hostess with the mostest' for the weekend.

Cheers Ireland!
Mary and I stopped at a pub called An Seanachai that is over 150 years old.  Drinking a pint of Guinness in a pub in Ireland,
does it get ANY better than this?
