Hiya! We are a recently married couple of crazies settling into our new life in the United Kingdom. My
name is Briana and I’m from the United States (born in Miami, Florida and
raised in Providence, Rhode Island) and my husband Barry is from England. We
met when I was living in Central Florida working as a social worker, and he was
studying to become a pilot in Daytona Beach.
You may be wondering about
the title of this little blog, and why it is named the elephant and the pirate..... they are our terms of endearment for
each other. I am the elephant, of course. I think they are the bees knees of the animal kingdom, and I jokingly
suggested it as a term of endearment. Initially Barry balked at the idea of calling me
his ‘little elephant’, but I assured him that I wouldn't take offense. When I mentioned to my friends I had started dating a ‘pilot’, some of them mistakenly heard ‘pirate’. Apparently they didn't think anything about my dating a pirate, and continued to believe that was his profession until I introduced him. It remains an ongoing joke.

Barry and I are so excited
about our new life together, and want to document our adventures. We are
grateful for our many blessings and want to share some of them with you.
