Autumnal swooning

There is no season in all the year so beautiful, so radiant with glory, as the early autumn. There is no time when the human soul drinks in so fully the glory and beauty of nature. All objects of beauty are more beautiful while passing away from us. The closing up of a beautiful life—the fading of the holy stars in the dim light of morning—the ending of a quiet summer day and the passing away of the bright summer glory, are all more sweet and lovely as they are lost to us. The death-glow always beautifies anything that wears the trace of beauty ere it goes back to nothingness. We do not understand the secret of this principle, yet we know that it is some law of the infinite mind.

more quotes about Fall here

Oh, don't mind me, I just have been enjoying my renewed (I used to enjoy the seasons growing up in Rhode Island) love affair with Fall. I am seriously, unabashedly, head over in heels in love with this season. The colors are just WOW! Sweater weather! Pumpkin flavored anything - yes please! We are so fortunate to have an abundance of footpaths nearby and several times a week Roxy and I enjoy taking long walks. When Barry accompanies us, it gives me a chance to snap pictures (have I mentioned how much I love my dslr camera birthday gift?? LOVE! It totally beats my iPhone camera's butt!)Below are just some that I have taken. Oh Autumn, how sad I will be to see you go!

A little food for thought...

and Happy Friday!

I thought this quote particularly appropriate after yesterday's post:

Thoughts??

In addition to preparing for our trip to Florida next week, the husband and I plan to enjoy our last English summer weekend (for awhile) by visiting the Olney Farmer's Market, as well as having dinner with friends.

Weekend Blessings!

A little food for thought...

I don't know about you, but I believe, life only gets better.....

A little food for thought...

...and Friday inspiration! Enjoy your weekend, I'm throwing off my bowlines and am headed to Amsterdam this weekend!

RIP Nora Ephron. Thank you for your contributions, especially one of my top ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIES, When Harry Met Sally.

Maybe young women don’t wonder whether they can have it all any longer, but in case of you are wondering, of course you can have it all. What are you going to do? Everything, is my guess. It will be a little messy, but embrace the mess. It will be complicated, but rejoice in the complications. It will not be anything like what you think it will be like, but surprises are good for you. And don’t be frightened: you can always change your mind. I know: I’ve had four careers and three husbands.
